The Lost Mother is a deeply personal reflection on memory, longing, and the quiet grief of change.
The central figure appears composed, almost iconic, yet her form is interrupted by shifting colors, fractured lines, and ghostlike impressions of another face lingering behind her-suggesting both who she once was and who she has become.
Soft blues and warm tones collide with raw marks and restless gestures, creating a tension between tenderness and emotional distance. At her center, a small, dark bloom emerges-subtle but heavy-like something buried that continues to grow.
The painting speaks to the ache of holding onto an earlier version of someone you love, while confronting the reality of who they are now. It captures the disorientation of watching that transformation unfold, where memory feels warmer than the present, and love exists alongside loss.
