For the painting "Anya does makeup on a model of the US Seahawk SH-60B Helicopter" I chose Franz Gertsch's work "Marina applies makeup to Luciano" as a reference. This painting was often discussed in my class discussions, and I often saw it at the Ludwig Museum in Cologne.
Naturally, I could not resist incorporating the "jokes" typical of my painting into the development of my own work - so the second human figure in my painting became a model helicopter. This motif struck me as quite amusing as a concept, and I also recognized its potential to transform the title of the reference work.
