by artist Emma Holm.
Mixed media on paper. Pencil drawing, acrylic, metal fibers.
The metal fibers will with time start to oxidate and turn rust brown, making this work a time piece, not knowing how and when it will start, but how exciting is that.
Size of the total work, including the frame: 110 x 79,5 cm
Oak box frame with museum glass, the work is attached on top and hangs in the beautiful frame.
Anthropocene:
Common to all earthly wildlife is their existence-based ability to make choices. But where the
majority of life on earth mainly practiced simple choices of life and death, being human on the
other hand, seemed to be about making existence far more complex and challenging - not only for themselves, but also for the lives and ecosystems forced to coexist with this peculiar species.
In a rather controversial hypothesis regarding reality: it stages that everything we know / everything we think we know / everything we have accepted not yet knowing, is fragments to a holographic universe – Reality is but a thought in which we are either being played or proven to be very poor gamers.
Then to her inner eye the Anthropologist suddenly saw all the theories she had tried to visualize, colliding in an explosive meltdown. The human species throwing around with unfriendliness triggering a metal short-circuit. Mother Earth in a desperate self-defense unleashing the elements of nature at full strength, in the attempt to detach the human species from the illusion they are clinging to at the end of an umbilical cord.
