Collection: Set

Oussama Abdelkarim Harrachif (1998), known as Set, is an Algerian painter and a graduate of the Regional School of Fine Arts in Oran 2022. His practice focuses on painting across multiple surfaces, with an emphasis on large-scale works. Through a conceptual approach, his work explores the human figure and emotional landscapes. Alongside his studio practice, Set creates murals in collaboration with local and international artists, bringing art into public spaces. His work has been exhibited in galleries across Algeria.

Artist Statement

My practice unfolds as continuous research into the construction of a symbolic world that migrates across contexts. Whether on canvas, walls, or in spatial installations, I develop the same universe through different forms and scales. Each project is not a standalone work but a fragment of a larger narrative an evolving visual ecosystem where humans, animals, and imagined landscapes reflect psychological states, inner tensions, and the fragile balance between beauty and unease. Moving between studio, public space, and site-specific interventions allow this world to adapt, mutate, and remain alive, shaped by place, time, and encounter.

Introduction

My work unfolds as a continuous visual universe that evolves across painting and mural practice. Rooted in inner imagination and lived experience, it explores psychological states through symbolic figures, imagined landscapes, and intuitive compositions. Humans and animals coexist as mirrors of emotional tension, vulnerability, and transformation, allowing beauty and unease to exist side by side.
