The Astronaut
The Astronaut
The Astronaut by artist Emma Holm.
The drawing pictures a popsicle, which has landed in a potted rose. This is both a reference to the little Prince figuring out the meaning of home. Also it is a futuristic illustration of space travel / the search of planets with an ecosystems that makes the planet habitable and a potential home.
Drawing inspiration from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s philosophic fiction “The Little Prince” – about a boy living on a planet of his own, only accompanied by a rose. He loves his rose, but the Rose is very vain and its spoiled behavior motivates him to seek out other planets and its habitants. Though he finds new friends on his adventure by the end he feels a longing to be with his vein little rose = finding home.
