Mermaid's Helmet

A portrait of Achilles, son of Thetis.

At birth, his mother tried to make him immortal by submerging him in the River Styx, but by holding him by the heel, that precise point on his body was left vulnerable.

On the helmet of his armor, the symbol of a sea nymph pays homage to the maternal figure.

This work is painted on a layer of resin that is subsequently sanded subtly to create a three-dimensional effect in the work and give more power to the figure.

Size 90 x 90 cm.
