Collection: Nicholas Blake
Nicholas Blake (2011)
Nicholas Blake, known as Nico, is a young emerging American artist whose work seamlessly navigates the intersections of mythology, nature, and the subconscious.
Born on a barrier island in southeastern North Carolina, his artistic practice began in drawing at an early age and quickly evolved into painting on large canvas. His compositions, rich in symbolism and narrative depth, explore themes drawn from Greek mythology, Japanese folklore, and global reptilian iconography, intertwining reality with the fantastic.
Blake’s paintings function as visual fables—instinctive, uninhibited, and deeply imaginative. His evolving body of work engages with a universal artistic language, where creatures from ancient cultures and contemporary mythologies merge into a singular dreamlike space.
Despite his young age, Blake’s career has already achieved international acclaim. His work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions across major art capitals, including:
Richard Beavers Gallery (New York)
Urban Break (Seoul and Busan, Korea)
Art Moment Jakarta
Its Ready Space (Jakarta, Indonesia)
Van Der Plas Gallery (New York)
Galerie Looloolook (Paris).
His most recent solo exhibition at Richard Beavers Gallery in SoHo, NYC (June-August 2025) marked a defining moment in his artistic trajectory.
Blake continues to develop his distinctive visual aesthetic, bridging the gap between past and present through a practice that remains both intuitive and conceptually rigorous.
