Jose Luis Ceña
José Luis Ceña was born in Málaga in 1982. When he was 15 years old, he moved to Madrid where he got his degree in Fine Arts at the Complutense Univ. in Madrid, in the visual Arts discipline in 2005.
In 2001, he awards a grant from The Royal Mint to increase his studies of Engraving and Graphic Design. Training in these fields, lets him investigate about resources and tools, though its far from the traditional painting, are not only added yo his creative process, but also to a special art plasticity.
Part of his iconography emerges from his thoughts based on readings or experiences he needs to represent to be remembered. Open compositions and silouetes that stand for something it is, it was, or it might be in a right moment or a place where the action is hapening. The concrete is left behind to let the observer’s feeling projection be the absolute message weight, in its particular way and moment of perception.
It is an undoubtless theme full of romantic mistery. It does not provoke in a straight way, but it does suggest a hidden reality, an emotion, a chance, a narration.
Jose works with different galleries both in Europe and the USA. Where we have recently been able to see his work in the international fairs of Art Intersect Palm Spings or Art Market San Francisco.
